‘Where every moment is a learning opportunity’

Main Slideshow

Clayton

I am originally from South Africa and have been in the UK since 2001.

I trained and qualified as a teacher in South Africa and then moved to the UK to start working, travelling and improving my life chances that weren't available to me in South Africa.

In 2012, my wife and I took a 'gap year' to travel around the world and visited many interesting and special places as well as some not so great places too!

We got engaged in Thailand in 2012 and then married in 2014 in Sri Lanka where we had an elephant attend our ceremony as a special guest.

I taught secondary school Geography for 16 years in and around London before moving to Dorset when my 1st son was young. I wanted him to grow up in a more rural setting similar to one that I grew up in, in South Africa.  I now have 2 sons who are aged 6 and 2. They take up all my free time and love to play and explore.

I started working at Montacute School 4 years ago and it has been a thoroughly enjoyable experience and a very steep learning curve. I love working with our students and I often think they teach me more than I teach them. Every day is a school day for me!!

I look forward to more years of learning and teaching Montacute students.
