Montacute School works closely with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) local authority to ensure the very best outcomes for children and young people in the area. 

BCP Council states a commitment to equity and access for all in order to ensure that every child and young person in our area reaches their full potential. The work of our local authority also focuses closely upon how families are supported and this also sits at the very heart of all we strive to do at Montacute. We have a dedicated Parent Partner to provide support directly to our families as well signposting to local support groups.

There is a strong drive within our local council to ensure strong partnership working across all multi agencies and this too can be seen throughout the provision at Montacute. We readily and regularly engage with our NHS colleagues and partners within social care. Together, we not only ensure the safety and wellbeing of our young people but also secure the very best opportunities to learn and progress.  

Montacute also commits to the vision of our local authority by providing a dedicated specialist Outreach Teacher who currently works across various primary and secondary schools to support inclusive education in mainstream schools locally. Training and coaching is provided by this specialist teacher as well as support to create bespoke learning pathways for young people who are struggling within the mainstream setting.

Montacute is committed to the ethos and core values of our local authority colleagues, working closely in support of placement allocation by sharing experience and expertise when working closely with families as they navigate the process of selecting the best possible school for their child.  We support in the assessment and referral process via membership of the local authority's SEND placement panel as well as the local authority's School Admissions Panel.

Our close partnership working with Local Authority Caseworkers also aids the process of assessment and placement allocation.
