Hello, My name is Carley and I am the Class Teacher in Upton Class. I have had a long career supporting early years education, starting as a Nursery Nurse back in 1998. 

I have been at Montacute since 2013, and in that time I have gained my HLTA Status, completed a Foundation Degree in Early Years Services and more recently my BA in Education. 

Prior to this I worked at a Special Needs School as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, supporting communication and language development of 3 to 19 year old's for 8 years. 

I have a passion for developing communication and play skills and am Montacute School's Intensive Interaction Coordinator, developing the approach across the classes and training colleagues. I am also Paediatric First Aid trained. 

We have  strong focus on the importance of play in Upton Class and believe that learning should be fun and engaging to build a love for attending school in the early years. 

In my spare time I enjoy lots of family days out with my Husband and two daughters and long dog walks with my German Shepherd Phoebe and my Pomeranian Dolly, as well as time out on our boat exploring our beautiful coastal surroundings.
