Hello, My name is Carley and I am the Class Teacher in Upton Class. I have had a long career supporting early years education, starting as a Nursery Nurse back in 1998. 

I have been at Montacute since 2012, and in that time I have gained my HLTA Status, completed a Foundation Degree in Early Years Services, my BA in Education and now have specialised my skills gaining Early Years Teacher Status. 

Prior to joining Montacute I worked at a Special Needs School as a Speech and Language Therapy Assistant, supporting communication and language development of 3 to 19 year old's, I worked there for 8 years. 

I have a passion for developing communication and play skills and am Montacute School's Intensive Interaction Coordinator, developing the approach across the classes and training colleagues. I am also Paediatric First Aid trained. 

We have  strong focus on the importance of play in Upton Class and believe that learning should be fun and engaging to build a love for attending school in the early years. 

In my spare time I enjoy lots of family days out with my Husband and two daughters and long dog walks with my German Shepherd and Pomeranian.
