We hope to help you a little more by describing our admissions process which we understand, can be a daunting process to navigate - we are here to support you!

Although Montacute School is a Special Academy, it is funded in exactly the same way as a Maintained Special School. 

Parents who wish to either explore a place at the school or select to secure a place with us can make arrangements to visit us by contacting the Montacute Team on 01202 693239 and by alerting the local authority as to their request.

Our placement "gatekeeper" at Montacute School is Mr Calvin Kier and he can be contacted at calvin.kier@bcpcouncil.gov.uk  

Montacute School alongside other possible suitable school placement settings for your child will be consulted by the local authority. A placement will then be offered to you by the local authority.  

Any local authority placement decision can be appealed via the local education authority. The Montacute School Admissions Policy will also be followed.

All children and young people attending Montacute School must have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP), without which a place cannot be offered.
