Sixth Form Curriculum Autumn 2026

Autumn 2026 Termly Overview

Our theme this term is 'Curious Minds'. In our literacy sessions we will be creating our own personal projects on subjects that make us curious. These projects might be written, drawn, recorded digitally, using photos or through photo diaries of sensory explorations. We will be encouraging students to communicate with staff and their peers to find answers to their areas of curiosity.

Pathways and routes of study will vary according to interests and preferred methods of learning.

As it is the National Year of Reading we will be encouraging some students to use the library to do their research and to learn about other people through history who's curiosity has lead to big changes. Other students will be exploring their environment and demonstrating their curiosity through intensive interaction, shared exploration and choice making.

Home Learning Opportunities

At home you could

  • Share the things that make you curious through visits to places of interest or by using digital platforms.
  • Be curious about food - Cook or bake using 'unusual' ingredients.
  • Read books together on the theme of science, arts, music and find out about people through history who have used their curiosity to contribute to their community or wider world.
  • Use construction equipment and toys
  • Create 'concoctions' and see what happens. Make predictions and then test to see the outcomes. We all love the mentos and coca-cola  expereiment!
