Materials (Autumn 2025)

Within our topic 'Materials', we explored the properties of different materials and how we could use these to create sounds, artworks, structures and experiences. We also built our communication skills by expressing whether we liked or did not like different materials; as well as expanding our understanding of adjectives through the use of chatter board descriptors. We learnt about 'Materials' through a range of creative activities and sensory experiences; spanning our curriculum! One of the ways in which we investigated our topic was through weekly sensory story sessions. Our text was 'Three Little Pigs' by James Halliwell-Phillips.
