Senses Topic (Autumn 2026)

Within our current topic 'I Can Sense It', we will be exploring the properties of our different senses and how we can use these to enhance our understanding, expoloration and experience. We will also be building our communication skills by expressing whether we like or do not like different sensory experiences; as well as expanding our understanding of adjectives through the use of chatter board descriptors. We will be learning about 'Senses' through a range of creative activities and sensory experiences; spanning our curriculum! One of the ways in which we will investigate our topic is through weekly sensory story and story massage sessions. Our texts this term is 'Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?' by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle; and 'I Hear a Pickle' by Rachel Isadora.
