‘Where every moment is a learning opportunity’
Summer Term 2025
This is our timetable for this term, our learning will be centred around the theme “Places and Spaces.” Through this topic, we will explore a variety of environments—both local and global. We’re looking forward to a term full of discovery, creativity, and growth!
Sensology
As part of our summer term theme, “Places and Spaces,” we will be participating in a weekly Sensology session that brings the history of Poole to life through sensory exploration.
In this session, children will engage with the sounds, sights, smells, tastes, and textures that connect to Poole’s rich heritage. From the salty scent of the harbour air to the creak of old ship wood, the clang of boat bells, and the feel of fishing nets and rope, pupils will be encouraged to explore and respond to a variety of sensory stimuli that represent the town’s maritime past and cultural identity.
Gardening
This term, the children will be getting hands-on in our Polytunnel as they grow their own plants and flowers. Each gardening session begins with our much-loved gardening song, which the children really enjoy singing together—it’s a fun and familiar way to start the session every week.
Home Learning
Home Learning – “Places and Spaces”
We love seeing what you enjoy doing at home, and this term we’d love for you to get involved by sharing your child’s favourite places and spaces—whether at home or out in the community. These could be local parks, family walks, or any special spots they enjoy.
This term, we’ve been making art installations using natural materials, such as wood, leaves, stones, and treasures from the beach. The children have loved creating these installations as a way to connect with nature and express their creativity.
Why not try making your own art installation at home using materials you find outside? It could be in your garden, at a local park, or on a family walk. Use things like twigs, leaves, pebbles, or flowers to create something beautiful and unique!
We often enjoy taking part in relaxation exercises at the end of the school day to help us unwind and relax. Have a go at the relaxation exercise below and let us know how you get on.
We’d love to see any photos or updates on Class Dojo.
