‘Where every moment is a learning opportunity’

Main Slideshow

Hi! My name is Tracy, I’m a newish member of the Branksome team, I moved to this class back in April. I am a Teaching Assistant at Montacute, this is my 5th year at the school, I have worked with students all ages & abilities, I’ve gained lots of experience throughout my time here e.g. working with PMLD, Visual Impaired, Autism etc. I’m kept up to date with all the regular training & I have gained a lifeguard & first aid qualification.

Previously I worked as a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school in Swanage for 4 ½ years, which is where I gained my level 3 qualification in Supporting teaching & learning in schools.

I have also been the VOCA (Voice Output Communication Aids) Champion for the school for the last 3 years, I am very passionate that every one of our students should have a voice & if I can help them to achieve this then I will help them anyway I can through a communication device.

I have always found working within SEN the most challenging, most rewarding & enjoyable experience throughout my life & I couldn’t think of a better career path to have chosen.

I have always lived here in Dorset, I have 2 younger siblings, I am a married Mum of 4, 3 girls (24,19,17) & 1 boy (15) & soon to be a grandparent which I’m very excited about. I have 2 dogs Poppy, Coco & a turtle, Perry. When I’m not at school I like to do some respite, spend quality time with my family & listening to music.
