‘Where every moment is a learning opportunity’

Sonia

Hello, I’m Sonia and I have been working at Montacute School since 2015. Since then, I have worked and trained my way to becoming a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant.

I work one day a week in Lulworth to cover Becca's PPA.

Other roles include being a Rebound Therapy Practitioner, a First Aider and Lifeguard.

Outside of work I enjoy listening to music. The first poster on my wall was ‘Shaking Stevens’, before progressing to Paul Young. That might be giving away my age. I also enjoy watching films, mainly ones with some romance, fluffy bunnies, and a happy ending. I belong to a book club, made from mums meeting at the school gate (long ago).  We read a mix of genres but are currently reading ‘The Bletchley Girls’ by Tessa Dunlop, where the women of Bletchley Park tell their story. Rarely do we discuss the books though, as we have too much catching up to do over a glass of wine.  Which reminds me to say a bit about food. Food tends to be prominent in my favourite memories. I love reading cookery books and have far too many. They inspire me when cooking for friends and family, but I also like hearing the personal stories often attached to a recipe. To balance my love of food I try to keep fit, going to the gym, and cycling to work. Occasionally I will get my sewing machine out and make a gift for someone, usually a bag, oh and my favourite colour is orange.
