Sally - Class Teacher

Hello!

I’m Sally Pugh and I am working in Kimmeridge alongside Janette this year. I’m excited to be back in the class at Montacute, and especially excited to have the chance to work with students and staff in Kimmeridge.

I originally trained as a physiotherapist many, many years ago, specialising in paediatrics.  I went on to gain an MSc in Rehabilitation Studies at Southampton University which had a focus on Disability Awareness and inclusion, something I have remained passionate about ever since. From there I went on to teacher training, which then led me to Montacute!

I first started at Montacute way back in 2003 as class teacher in lower school. I moved to upper school and spent 13 years in Post 16 before taking a break to concentrate on family life. During my time away from Montacute I worked as a carer and a playmaker at Julia’s House, where I learnt new skills and experiences – especially the importance of play and sensory activities.

I have also been working regularly as a supply teacher at Montacute, but I am looking forward class teaching again, and chance to put all my sensory ideas and activities into action.

Out of school I am married and we have 3 children in their 20’s – all of whom have fond memories of volunteering for school – especially supporting creative projects! I have 2 spaniels that keep me out walking, and love to be in, on and by the sea!

I am looking forward to getting involved in some lovely creative activities Kimmeridge style.
