Autumn 2022
The Sixth Form Curriculum
This term our theme is Journeys. We all make journeys every day, to and from school, around the school and to other places in the community . We are going to be sharing our experiences of journeys, both local and further afield, as well as other kinds of journeys, such as food journeys and our own personal journeys. Some of us are going to plan and record journeys we make using technology, as well as finding out about journeys that other people have made through history.
Learning is an exciting journey in itself, so we will be focusing on sharing our own personal learning journeys throughout the term during our reflection sessions at the end of each day.
Termly Overview
An important element of the sixth form curriculum is our focus on preparation for adulthood.
Our curriculum planning sits under the four headings of Employment (World of Work), Community Inclusion, Health and Independent Living. Our focus is on ensuring all our young people have the tools and skills they need to transition into adult services and be able to participate in meaningful work and further learning.
Our curriculum intent mirrors the key aims laid out in BCPs Preparation for Adulthood development plan....
