Amy - Class Teacher
Hi! My name is Amy Burkmar and I began working at Montacute School in 2010. When I first stepped into the school, I knew immediately it was a wonderful place, and somewhere I was so happy and excited to be. Over the years I have been a Teaching Assistant, a Class Teacher, and Head of Lower School.
I am now an Assistant Headteacher at Montacute, leading on Whole School Pupil Assessment and our Complex Needs department. I also have a passion for developing teachers and enjoy my role mentoring Initial Trainee and Early Career Teachers at Montacute.
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my Husband, Joe and my two children, Eva and Henry. We love going for walks, swimming, going to the beach and seeing our family and friends. I also work for a local community choir, Just Sing, arranging songs and playing the piano. We rehearse weekly and enjoy performing locally!
I love my Tuesdays in Kimmeridge Class, we have so much fun exploring, learning, singing, and moving. Janette, Sonia and I communicate daily, I love hearing about all the wonderful things our students have been achieving across the week.
Thanks for reading,
