Pupil Premium Report
Pupil Premium
Pupil Premium funding was introduced by the government in April 2011; it is additional money to support the needs and raise the attainment of pupils who are in receipt of free school meals, are looked after (for more than 6 months continuously) by the local authority or whose parents work in the armed forces.
This is part of the government’s plan to reduce inequalities and to ‘close the gap’ in attainment where children are severely disadvantaged. We aim to provide a personalised approach for all our pupils and Pupil Premium is one element of funding that can help us to do this.
We can choose how to use this funding, but must evaluate the impact of our spending decisions in terms of pupil progress. We have used the money to provide additional support and enriching opportunities for these pupils, alongside their peers, in different areas such as speech and language therapy, behavioural support, sensory integration, music therapy, inclusion opportunities and the purchase of specialist equipment.
